Saturday, February 24th 2007Well I am sitting here hoping the power does not go off. We have been getting ice pellets, and freezing rain off and on all day and now on top of that heavy snow! 140,000 people in Iowa have already lost power.
I asked for this day off a week ago, good thing too cause I didn't really want to travel home in this weather.
My son has been sick since Thursday night. Sore throat, headache, dizzy, cough, runny nose, achy body. I talked to him last night when I got off work and his temp was 102.5 with Tylenol. He called me today, saying he was worse, that when he coughs he is coughing up green stuff with blood in it. So I braved the ice and took him to the walk in clinic, ended up being a 2 hour wait. His temp was 102.5 when we arrived, shortly after we arrived he started chilling, by the time the doctor came in his fever was up to 104.8!! The doctor said that motrin would work best for bringing down his fever. After she checking him out, she said his chest sounded a bit raspy. She said it probably started out as a virus but he now either has acute bronchitis or the beginning of pneumonia, and since he doesn't have any health insurance she wasn't going to do a lot of test, that she should just treat it regardless of what it is. So she gave him samples of Omnicef. By the time we got back to my house his temp was 105.8!! I was like OMG OMG OMG OMG, we gotta get some motrin in!! We have been rotating the motrin and then the tylenol and his fever is staying way down, thank goodness!!
So far I haven't gotten any exersize in! I just have to get some in! I can't remember if I have mentioned this before or not but I have discovered yoga! I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! It is so relaxing and it truly does give you a good work out.
